西日本では七月から雨が少ない日が続いています。高知県の早明浦ダムは、四国の人たちが使う水をためている大切なダムです。しかし、八月十九日の貯水率は約三十五パーセントで、いつもの年の半分ぐらいでした。そのため、八月十九日の朝から、三回目の取水制限が始まりました。香川県に送る水は五十パーセント、徳島県に送る水は約十八パーセント減ります。この強さの制限は四年ぶりです。今のところ水道が止まる予定はありませんが、水の出が弱くなることがあります。国土交通省は八月に渇水の情報を集める窓口を作りました。家でも、シャワーを短くしたり、お風呂の残り湯を洗濯に使ったりして、水を大切に使いましょう。
