8月25日、環境省はクマ撃退スプレーの性能の目安を発表しました。同じ日に、消費者庁と国民生活センターも注意を呼びかけました。クマ撃退スプレーは、クマが近づいてきたときに顔に向けて使う道具です。日本にはまだ公式なルールがないので、性能が低い製品や、人に使う催涙スプレーをクマ用として売っている製品もあります。国の目安では、カプサイシンの濃度は1.0〜2.0パーセント、噴射距離は7.5メートル以上、噴射時間は6秒以上です。持つときは、リュックの中ではなく、腰や胸のホルスターに入れます。使う前に、期限を確認して、練習用のスプレーで練習しておくと安心です。飛行機には持ち込めません。そして、いちばん大切なのは、朝や夕方を避けて、出没情報を調べて、クマに会わないようにすることです。
