JR東日本は、Suicaの次のキャラクターの候補を三つ発表しました。二〇〇一年から使われている「Suicaのペンギン」は、二〇二七年三月三十一日に卒業します。新しいキャラクターは、その次の日の四月一日から仕事を始めます。三つの中からどれを選ぶかは、みんなの投票で決めます。特別なサイトで、九月八日から九月二十三日まで投票できます。国や年齢に関係なく、一人一回だけ投票できます。結果は、Suicaが生まれて二十五年になる十一月十八日に発表されます。
